The foliar fertilizing technology of cherry and sour cherry.

The most frequent secondary nutrient and micro element deficiency symptoms in cherry and sour cherry cultivation:

CALICUM DEFICIENCY

The necrosis and distortion of young leaf tops are typical of calcium deficiency. Recommended product for prevention and healing: FitoHorm 40 Ca. In case of excessive lime supply most frequently the symptoms of „lime chlorosis”, namely iron deficiency appear due to its Ca antagonism. The deficiency symptoms of other micro elements can appear, since excessive Ca content equally hinders the intake of Mg, B, Mn, Zn and Cu. This can be prevented by the use of MikroMax.

MAGNESIUM DEFICIENCY

In case of magnesium deficiency the yellow discolouration and necrosis occurs on the leaf of the cherry and sour cherry, usually along the main veins, on both sides, less frequently on the edges. Recommended product for prevention and healing: FitoHorm 24 Mg or FitoHorm Turbo Magnesium.

IRON DEFICIENCY

The symptom of iron deficiency is the typical iron chlorosis. The yellowing of the leaves evolve on the shoot top depending on the degree of deficiency (actual or relative), and even the entire plant can turn yellow. Eventually the leaves die, fall down and the necrosis of twigs also starts. Recommended product for prevention and healing: FitoHorm 55 Fe.

BORON DEFICIENCY3CZ2951

In case of boron deficiency the cracking of fruit, bad colouring and binding can be observed; the young leaves are small, become yellow and the shoot top dies. Recommended product for prevention and healing: Polyboron 140.

MANGANESE DEFICIENCY

In case of manganese deficiency interveinal chlorosis can be experienced, which is very similar to the symptom of incipient iron deficiency, but it does not start on the youngest leaves. First marbled yellowing evolves along the main and side veins. With the intensification of the yellow discolouring a reticulated chlorosis evolves with „green veins”, later yellow-white spots are typical. Recommended product for prevention and healing: FitoHorm 54 Mn.

ZINC DEFICIENCY

The general symptoms of zinc deficiency are small leaves and rosette leaf position due to short internodes. The small leaves are entirely yellow, rigid, crooked and damaged. The main and side veins remain green. The twigs are fragile. It has a negative effect on blooming and crop binding. Recommended product for prevention and healing: FitoHorm Turbo Zinc.

Suggestion:
The diversity of FitoHorm product line makes it possible to develop the foliar fertilizing technology especially for a given farm in order to take into consideration every factor of the local circumstances. Cherry is the more sensitive from the two cultures. Since these are the two fruit types which ripe the earliest, thus the timing of nutrient application and adjustment to nutrient intake dynamics have outstanding significance. Both types are very demanding regarding secondary and micro elements.

The growth and ripening of the fruit and the development of the buds for the next year takes place until June. Following this the quality development of shoots and pistil fundaments can be observed. Therefore we can establish next year’s crops with the nutrients applied during summer.

RECOMMENDED FOR PROFESSIONAL USERS!

In cherry and sour cherry plantations with special market value and cultivation type we recommend the integration of professional technological elements. These elements facilitate the development and production of large, early and uniformly colouring fruits besides proper technological discipline.

TECHNOLOGICAL ELEMENTS

·  FitoHorm 63 Cu mono solution in 6 litre/ha dosage, FitoHorm Turbo Zinc mono solution in 3 litre/ha dosage and MikorMax in 3 litre/ha dosage simultaneously with the application of foliage protection treatments in August, September and October once in each month.

·  During spring at the time of fruit colouring in 2 treatments: occasionally FitoHorm 63 Cu 3 litre/ha, + FitoHorm 65 Zn 3 litre/ha
